February Glossy Box Review

So today i recieved my February glossybox, and wow, has it had some negative feedback!

Every month i recieve GlossyBox, and every month i find myself that little bit disapointed.
This month, i didnt feel dissapointed, i didnt really feel anything. Every month i get excited about my Glossybox coming, and every month the box is never what i expected. So what did i get?

This month i recieved: (please excuse the bad quality pictures)

DUWOP Venom Lip gloss:

What they say: " Combining subtle tinted lip gloss with Du Wop's Lip Venom to create Venom gloss"

What i say: This was the only thing in the box, i actually wanted to try. Ive never tried a lip plumping gloss before, and have always been intrigued, due to the "light tingling sensation" you are suppose to get. I got mines in the colour "Buttercup", a nude/beige colour with a thick consistency. It is said to smell like cinnamon, but i think it smells more like vanilla, mmm...
It is very sticky but i don't really mind that, as it did make my lips feel very soft. When applied,it transforms into a clear gloss, which makes your lips really shine.
When i applied this to my lips, i felt the "light tingling sensation" which i would say is like when you have toothpaste on your lips, it was cool but not uncomfortable, Then minutes later, the gloss started to heat up and i had a strong burning sensation on my lips which was so uncomfortable, i had to wipe the gloss off. Now i have read that if you have chapped lips, which i do, this can cause the burning sensation. So if you have chapped lips like me, maybe this gloss isnt for you.
Its a shame that it burnt so much, becuase i really did like this product.

DR Bronner Magic Liquid Soap:

What they say: "A combination of organic extra virgin coconut, olive, Jojoba and hemp oils, together with pure-essential oils"

What i say: This is my "luxury" sample of soap at a luxurious price of £1.99!!. There isnt much i can say about this product, apart from it has 18 different uses and smells like lemon. The label is extremly hard to read so ill have to whack out my magnifiying glass to find out all the uses of this bad boy. Apparently it can be used on your make-up brushes, so maybe it will get a use.

Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Relaxing Balm:

What they say: "Intense hydrating treatment for your hair"

What i say: I had to look up what this product actually does as it doesnt seem to say on the bottle, but apprently it controls frizz and acts as a heat protectant. I am glad i recieved this product as i have saw that alot of subscribers got a curl enhancer, when they have straight hair. Perhaps if glossybox used the beauty profiles, people could receive the right product most suited to them.

BM Beauty Pure Mineral eyeshadow:

What they say: "Award winning pure mineral eyeshadow. Cruelty free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans"

What i say: I recieved this in the colour " storm cloud" a beautiful grey with shimmer. I dont have any pigments and have always been afraid to try them due to fall out. But i will definatly be giving this a go as its not too strong in colour. If i dont use it as a eyeshadow, i will definatly be using this an eyeliner!

Como Shambhala Invigorate Body Lotion:

What they say: " A revitalising blend of essential oils that puts you in a perfectly uplifted mood"

What i say: Really glossybox, another body lotion? I hardly use body lotions, and now i have a box full of them!
This lotion smells of peppermint, which i wouldnt neccessarly assosciate with body lotions. I think the peppermint smell is a bit too much, so i doubt i will be using this. The name is quite cool though!

What i thought of this months box:

So this box was glossybox's last chance to win me over. I have unsubbed and instead subbed to carmine, which i should expect within the next week. Glossy box seems to be going downhill for me, and until they improve their range of products and start taking the beauty profile into account, i will be using another service.

Time to start blogging!

Well here it goes, starting my own blog. Woo.

My name is Caitlin, and i will be blogging about all things beauty related, and buying within a budget. As a student, i know how hard it is to afford to keep up with the latest make-up trends, so i will be keeping you upto date with all the new beauty products out there, at an affordable price.

I will also be posting about the new challeng in my life, eating healthy and keeping fit. We all try it, and we all struggle to keep it up. I will be letting you know how i am getting on with my attempt at  dropping a few dress sizes.

So you probably want to know some information about the girl writing this blog. Well as said previously, my name is Caitlin, and i am a computing student from Scotland, attempting to become a web designer, yay!
I decided to make this blog to help me understand the internet and its users in more detail, but mostly to discuss with the world about one of my passions, make-up.
But dont be suprised to see some random posts about books, games and movies too!

Well i have rambled on a bit for an introduction post, so ill leave it at that. I hope you enjoy reading this blog!

Happy Go Beauty.
